Dress Code & Dance Apparel Requirements

Acceptable Additional Attire for Rehearsals:
Short, (12”) black chiffon wrap skirts.

Dance Company Garments & Dance Bags and
Warm-up Suits
All Dance Company Members will have a Starr Dancers® or Berkshire Ballet Theatre® dance bag for shoes and paraphernalia, and a garment bag for costumes. For all performances Dance Company members are required to show professionalism by arriving at their designated time in their “warm-up suits”. For Levels 2,3 Intermediate Jr. Starr Dancers® that entails purple cheerfactor warm-ups. The Intermediates through BBT® Company will need to wear the black and grey cheerfactor warm-ups. Dance Company will no longer allow dancers the opportunity to not conform to all the Company Policies. If you wish to dance and perform with the Berkshire Ballet Theatre® and Starr Dancers®, then you must dress respectfully, professionally and in accordance with all Company Policies.

Dance Bags - Mandatory Contents
All dancers need to have the following items in their dance bags, as the “Front Desk” will no longer be responsible for supplying them. Thank You!

1.) Band-aids
2.) Safety Pins
3.) Elastic Waistband
4.) Extra Hair Accessories
5.) Tape for Toe Shoes
6.) Scissors for Toe Shoes and Ribbons
7.) Needle and Thread for Sewing Toe Shoes & Ribbons
8.) Pens, Pencil and Notebook

Shoes, Character Skirts, Leotards and Tights
It is up to the discretion of the Executive Director and Artistic Director to determine what apparel will be mandatory for each performance. As such, it is not an unusual request to be asked to purchase specific attire for specific performance. Please be aware of this, and try to plan accordingly. Understand that this is in the best interest of the entire Company for consistency in performances.
